Planning Your Treatment
Enhancing your smile with veneers begins with an in-depth consultation with Dr. Bell. He will examine your teeth to identify areas that could benefit from cosmetic treatment, then discuss specific imperfections that can be corrected with veneers or other solutions. He will also take note of the specific features of your smile that you wish to improve. We believe that a detailed inventory of your aesthetic goals is the key to successful treatment. For that reason, we strongly encourage you to contemplate everything you would like to correct in your smile before your consultation so you can be prepared to create a treatment plan with Dr. Bell.
If you decide to go forward with your treatment, Dr. Bell will make any necessary alterations to your teeth. He offers both minimal-prep and no-prep veneers because in some cases, patients will need to have a small amount of tooth enamel removed in order to achieve a natural-looking enhancement. Next, he will take impressions of your teeth, and use these to create a wax-up, a physical representation of your expected results. With this model, you can suggest adjustments before the lab begins crafting your veneers. We will then schedule your second visit, usually about two weeks later. At that time, Dr. Bell will place your porcelain veneers in one painless procedure.
It is important that your teeth are healthy enough to support porcelain veneers, and are free of tooth decay, gum disease, or other complications. We are dedicated to the satisfaction and health of our patients, and will never recommend porcelain veneers unless your teeth and gums are healthy. We can perform the necessary general or restorative treatments to give you a healthy smile foundation.
Porcelain veneers can provide dramatic enhancement in the span of just a couple of appointments. If minor imperfections that do not affect your oral health are making you feel self-conscious when you smile, veneers can quickly restore your confidence and help you to look your absolute best.
