Porcelain veneers

Porcelain Veneers

Chips, cracks, discoloration, and misalignment concerns can make you feel self-conscious about the appearance of your smile.

At Bell Dental in Lake Jackson, TX, our dentist can design and place custom porcelain veneers to give you a true cosmetic transformation.

Dr. Brian Bell offers both traditional and no-prep dental veneers to our patients. Which will be right for your smile goals?

What Are Veneers?

Dental veneers are ultra-thin porcelain shells. They fit snugly over the front surfaces of the teeth to conceal cosmetic dental concerns like damage, small gaps, and minor misalignment issues.
During a porcelain veneer placement appointment, your dentist will remove a small amount of enamel from the front of your teeth, gently shaping them to accommodate the veneers. They will then attach veneers to the front surfaces of your teeth, creating a near-instant smile upgrade. The process is virtually painless and can be completed in just two appointments.

Traditional vs. No-Prep Veneers

Traditional Veneers

veneer

Traditional dental veneers can be made from a range of materials, including composite resin, zirconia, and porcelain. Our cosmetic dentist in Lake Jackson, TX, prefers porcelain for its durability and lifelike qualities. When crafting veneers from porcelain, we can precisely match your restorations to the shade, shape, and size of your natural teeth, ensuring seamless results. When placing your traditional porcelain veneers, your dentist will have to remove a small amount of enamel from the surface of your teeth, making them a more permanent treatment option. Porcelain veneers can last over 15 years with good dental care.

No-Prep Veneers

These veneers can also be made of lifelike porcelain, but they don't require your dentist to alter the structure of your natural teeth for placement, which makes the treatment reversible. However, it is important to understand that because they are bonded directly to the enamel, they can potentially affect the surfaces of your teeth. No-prep veneers tend to be thinner than traditional veneers, so they are best suited for concealing minor cosmetic issues. Severe discoloration and damage may be more effectively addressed with traditional dental veneers. No-prep dental veneers typically last for five to seven years.

Consultation

During your first visit to our office in Lake Jackson, our dentist, Brian Bell, will thoroughly examine your smile and learn about your treatment goals before designing a personalized treatment plan with porcelain veneers.

Preparation

If you are receiving traditional veneers, Dr. Bell will begin the process by removing a very small amount of enamel from the front surfaces of your treated teeth.

Impressions

We'll take impressions of your teeth and use them to create a wax-up model of your smile with veneers, which we can adjust per your specifications.

Fabrication

Once you're completely satisfied with the design of your veneers, trained ceramists at our partner dental lab will begin crafting them. This process usually takes about two weeks.

Placement

When your veneers are ready, you can return to our office for a fitting. We'll make any necessary adjustments to ensure your veneers look natural and feel comfortable. Dr. Bell will also provide instructions to help your veneers last for years to come, including brushing and flossing tips and which foods and drinks to be mindful of.

Are Porcelain Veneers Covered by Insurance?

Veneers fall under the cosmetic dentistry umbrella, which means they are considered elective and not covered by dental insurance plans.

However, we don't want insurance eligibility or financial limitations to come between our patients and the transformative cosmetic treatments they're looking for. This is why our Lake Jackson, TX, proudly accepts financing options, including CareCredit®. CareCredit offers loans with little or no interest, repayable in flexible monthly installments. With financing, you can achieve your cosmetic goals while staying comfortably within your budget.
