An older couple smiling outdoorsThe team here at Bell Dental is committed to helping patients in and around the greater Angleton area. We offer state-of-the-art dental care treatments, including All-on-4®, an effective and immediate option for placing a dental implants to address tooth loss. A number of patients have asked us how this implant dentistry method works, so we'd like to cover some of the basics right now.

What is All-on-4®?

All-on-4® is a solution for supporting a full denture by using just four carefully placed dental implants. Using advanced technology and imaging and careful three-dimensional models, the four dental implants are strategically arranged along the dental arch in order to ensure the most secure hold possible.

Ideal Candidates for All-on-4®

The best candidates for All-on-4® treatment are people who are missing most if not all of the teeth of their dental arch. They should have sufficient jawbone density and gum density remaining to support dental implants when they are placed, and they should be in good overall dental health to tolerate oral surgery.

A patient may have his or her last few remaining teeth removed in order to qualify for All-on-4® treatment. Similarly, bone grafting and gum augmentation surgeries may be recommended for patients who do not have sufficient jawbone or gum tissue in place. These options can be discussed in greater detail during your consultation.

The Advantages of All-on-4® Over Traditional Dental Implant Approaches

All-on-4® treatment provides results that are effective and immediate.

For one, All-on-4® treatment can be accomplished in just one day. That is how strong the dental implants are and how efficiently they are placed during treatment.

The dental implants are placed in such a way that the full denture is fully secured. It will not budge or fall out when a patient is biting, chewing, or speaking. In addition, the dental implants will prevent bone loss and gum recession from occurring, which is an issue that cannot be addressed by removable dentures.

The appearance of All-on-4® is quite natural, allowing you to smile with absolute confidence.

The All-on-4® Procedure

During the All-on-4®, any remaining teeth will be extracted to accommodate the four dental implants. A full three-dimensional scan of the mouth is taken in order to achieve optimal results with the placement of the implants. A full denture is then custom-crafted in order to meet the needs of the patient.

Following the oral surgery, the fit of the denture is checked one last time before it is carefully set in place. Patients will be able to eat their favorite foods again and not feel self-conscious about missing so many teeth.

Is All-on-4® the right option for me?

To find out if All-on-4® is the ideal treatment option for you and your needs, it's important that you undergo a full consultation at our practice. It may be determined that a dental bridge or partial denture is more ideal for your needs given the nature of your tooth loss. Whatever the case may be, all treatments will be tailored to your needs to ensure your smile is as healthy as possible.
