Invisalign

Do you want straighter teeth but don’t love the idea of wearing traditional metal braces?

Fortunately, Invisalign® can address misalignment and gaps in your teeth with convenient clear aligners.

Learn how Dr. Brian Bell refines the smiles of patients in Lake Jackson, TX, with this invisible orthodontic treatment.

Why Choose Invisalign?

There are several reasons dentists and orthodontists alike recommend Invisalign. Let’s take a look at some of the benefits:

Low Profile

Since the aligners are clear, Invisalign is nearly imperceptible to others — especially when compared to other orthodontic options like braces.

Removable

You can remove the aligners, which means you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite foods without having to worry about damaging your appliance.

Comfortable

Invisalign is designed to be comfortable and easy to wear. The smooth clear aligners are custom-fit and won’t irritate your lips or gums.

Ready for a Healthier, Straighter Smile? Contact Us for a Consultation

Overlapping, misaligned, or crooked teeth don't just affect your smile's appearance – they impact its health, as well. Overlapping teeth can be incredibly difficult to brush and floss, even with professional equipment. The buildup of plaque on these teeth can be harmful, leading to tooth decay, gum disease, and even eventual tooth loss.

Straightening your teeth with Invisalign at Bell Dental can give you a chance to look better, feel more confident, and live a healthier life. To get started, contact our Lake Jackson practice today:

What Makes a Good Candidate for Invisalign?

Invisalign can correct a host of orthodontic issues, but patients must meet certain criteria for treatment. Let’s take a closer look at what makes for an excellent candidate:

Mild to Moderate Alignment Issues

Invisalign is not suited for more complex malocclusion cases. If you have severe misalignment, alternative treatment methods such as traditional braces may be recommended.

Adherence to Treatment Guidelines

Invisalign treatment is fairly straightforward. However, you must be committed to following the instructions laid out by your dentist for best results, including wearing your clear aligners for 22 hours each day.

No Teeth Grinding

Excessive teeth grinding or bruxism can damage Invisalign trays, and a night guard cannot be worn with Invisalign. However, Invisalign can help resolve milder teeth grinding caused by misalignment. Your dentist will evaluate your bruxism to determine if clear aligners are right for you.

Good Oral Health

Any tooth decay or gum disease will need to be addressed before your Invisalign treatment begins. Treating your smile from the root up will help us provide you with a result that promotes both the appearance and well-being of your smile.

The Invisalign Treatment Timeline A Closer Look at the Orthodontic Process

One-on-One Consultation

During your initial consultation at our office in Lake Jackson, your dentist will perform a dental exam to determine if you are a candidate for Invisalign.

Digital Impressions

Your dentist will take digital impressions of your bite and develop a full treatment plan.

Aligner Fabrication

An entire series of clear aligners will be fabricated from a mold. The total number of clear aligners you’ll receive depends on your personalized treatment plan.

Wear Aligners

You will move progressively through the aligners, changing them approximately every two weeks, to gently move your teeth and straighten your smile.

Enjoy Your Enhanced Smile

To maintain your results for years to come, your dentist may provide a retainer for you to wear overnight after treatment is complete.

Caring for Your Aligners During Invisalign Treatment

  • Clean your aligners with a soft-bristle toothbrush and gentle-formula toothpaste daily
  • Do not eat or drink anything except water while wearing your aligners
  • Always place your trays in their case when you’re not wearing them
  • Rinse your aligners every time you remove them
  • Brush and floss before placing aligners back in

Once you begin treatment, your dentist will go over what you should do to keep your Invisalign treatment as effective as possible.
